"let's do 52" - wk31
Within the past week, I have done 4 different shoots, and even though I had so many photos to choose from for today, I just couldn't bring myself to show off the faces of blog posts yet to come - sounds like a christmas story ghost almost! So here is what I have to show for myself. This would be the backdrop of Amy & Luke's engagement session from last saturday in Nevada. Super weird to see something rather landscape-y, but I hope it gets you excited to see the full post coming next week!

Family Portraits - Rancho Cordova, CA
A little over a week ago I met up with Vera, her husband Adam, and their five little kiddos to do a family portrait session. Back in October, with their youngest child at just 7 months old, their family recieved a call while on vacation about the possibility of an adoption for them. Fast forward to now, their family has officially become a family of seven! After completing the legal adoption documents, the family took the final step in completing their family by planning a family sealing session at the LDS Sacramento Temple. Vera contacted me about doing this extra special family session for them, and there was no way that I could say no! Dressed in white, we battled the heat and created some portraits to document this special day that would last for years to come.
We started everything off with some individual portraits of the older 3 girls while the little ones were getting dressed. We did our best to find some shady spots to make these girls look fabulous in!

Each of the kids were photographed outside in front of the Temple as well, and boy do these next little two look excited as ever!

Being a Tuesday, I was very excited we didn't have to battle any wedding parties for the coveted pedestal spot to show the entire temple in the background. The only think working against us was the sun!
These next two are probably so closely tied for my favorite, I just had to share them both!

I'm so glad I got to work with this crew, and I hope the rest of their day was even more amazing than our portrait session. I'm so glad they chose Sacramento Temple over Oakland so that I could photograph them! Although, I would of taken the drive to Oakland for them if they asked! I can't wait to see these little ones grow through out the years to come!

"let's do 52" - wk30
I realized once I left for Reno this past Friday evening, that I had not done anything to get the "let's do 52" blog post ready for the end of the week (aka saturday). Well, two days later, here it is! I've spent this week doing a handful of things photographically, but I was also at a loss to get back to my crafting roots. I decided to embark on a project to keep me doing something that was not requiring staring at a computer or television, and also to revive my sad little craft blog. A project was formed, and last week I had it going pretty well for a few days. Hopefully even with all things that are up and coming this week (portrait sessions on tuesday & saturday plus second shooting again in Tahoe with Doug on Sunday) I will be able to get SOMETHING done.

jenny - "My feet are so tired this is all they want to do when they come home at night. Most days I'm working 13 plus hours and only 5 or so are paid. Good thing its so fun!"
kasey - "Thunder storm power outage friday! Husband and I ate dinner by candlelight and played some skip-bo. Not 30 seconds after i took this picture did the lights snap back on. :) great night!"
He threw in some cutesy bashful faces...
Showed off his avid thumbsucking skills...
But didn't forget at all to be super cute and smiley the whole way through. Check out those converse, this kid has style!

amy - "Driving to work feet! I haven't been working a whole lot between vacation and cancelations. Oh well! More time to spend with my honey! This weekend is my birthday! Woot woot! "
kasey - "Barcelona Spain! Sitting on the beach next to the port where the Olymic Sailing Competitions were held. Such a pretty view. Loved Spain, but it looked too much like Southern California, but with nicer people. Good to be home in Beautiful Germany!"
An engagement session with these two would NOT have been complete without their two dogs, Rue & Ellie. If we had included ALL animals in their house, we would of had dogs, frogs, a cat, a rat... and i'm SURE something else that I'm forgetting.
I told you I was saving my ampersand for something special to kick it off!

I had to save my ABSOLUTE favorite for last. I made them walk up and down that spot so many times, but we got the shot!
I'm super excited for these two to tie the knot in a few years once Amy is done with nursing school! We've been through a LOT since meeting each other in 6th grade when I moved to Loomis, I can't wait to see the journey they're going to take from here! Thank you two SO much to letting me do your photos for you. I had a BLAST!
p.s. big thanks to our dog wrangler/noise maker Jenny!
