M & E's Empire Mine Wedding - Grass Valley, CA

This year, I've been introduced to "real" summer weddings.  Last year, I got lucky and everything was in Tahoe where it was MUCH cooler than it is here in the valley.  I guess I can say I'm now getting conditioned for all weather situations!  This first weekend in July was a real experience, and a fantastic one at that.  Stacey of Lovely You Photography invited me along for a wedding at Empire Mine State Park as her second shooter, and despite the heat, the day was amazing!  You could tell from miles away that the bride & groom were head over heels in love with each other and were so ready to tie the knot.  We started the day off at a cute little inn & suites as the bride & her ladies finished getting ready before heading over to the venue for the bride to get her dress on and ready to go.
Once we got to Empire Mines, Stacey & I started off with some detail shots of the gorgeous dress before starting on the bridal party. I think it's safe to say I totally fell in love with this location.
Once we got the ladies tucked away in their cabin, we started with the groom and his groomsmen. They were just as fun and energetic as the girls were, and were up for anything.
Before we knew it, it was time for these two to tie the knot. Their ceremony was held in a simple, yet gorgeous location on site in front of the cottage.
Stacey headed up the family formals, and then on the way to meeting up with the bridal party, stopped and did a few bridal portraits. Such an adorable couple!
The bridal party was released for the reception, and then it was time for a few more portraits in a new location for the newlyweds :)
The bride put such detail in to bringing in the vintage aspect to her reception with the decor she brought in. Stacey said they even used the couch in their engagement session. That couch got quite a bit of portrait use that evening!
After cake & the first dances, the crowd was ready to get down and have a great time. It was such a blast to see everyone having a fantastic time on this big day!
Thanks again so much, Stacey! I had an awesome time getting to know you, and helping you out with shooting this wedding. Best wishes to the newlyweds! I'm sure your married life together will be amazing :)
