2011 Photographer Favorites - Families
A big portion of what I love to do photography wise involved the family portrait side of things. When I'm not off working one wedding or another, I absolutely love spending one on one time with a family group creating portraits for them to display in their home for everyone to see. I often hear the statement "We haven't done portraits since my youngest was 6 months old, and she's 15 now!" Believe me, it happened with our own family too. There is no need for a special occasion for family photos, but instead should be used to celebrate and document where you were at that point in time with your kids. They'll be able to look back in years to come and see their WHOLE family in their portraits, not just mom or dad because the other was behind the camera taking the photo. My advice for 2012? If you haven't made time to have a family portrait done in the recent years, make a goal for it! I would LOVE to help document memories for each and every one of you :)

Dickey & Molatore Family Session - Sacramento, CA
The Saturday after Thanksgiving turned out to be a perfect day for a family portrait session. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to photograph either! I've known Jessica, Ryan & Dakota for years, plus I photographed Jessica & Adam's wedding about a year and a half ago, as well as some anniversary portraits in April of this year. PLUS Dakota was part of my Ballerina Project last March. The only one I hadn't met before was Ryan's adorable girlfriend Sarah, but she fit right in the group like she had been there all along! We photographed at Discovery Park, where I had never been before but LOVED the location. The fall colors were great, and looked great with their choice of wardrobe.
Seriously. Aren't they the cutest kids you've ever seen?
Jessica & Adam brought their "fur babies" up with them from Southern California, and we were able to get them in a few photos together. They seemed a little excited to just be outside and SO wanted to do their own thing!
LOVE this one!
Found this AWESOME rock spot down the side of a hill, and once Ryan took charge and climbed to the top, the rest scattered around the pile. Pretty much another favorite!

Ahh. Can't you feel the sibling love? :)
This super great location, plus this awesome "fab five" group was an excellent way to spend the weekend! Of course, now I can't wait until next spring, since Jessica & Adam just officially confirmed that they are due with "baby JAM" next July! Congrats to you two, and I cannot wait for those maternity & newborn photos! I've already started looking up ideas :)

Lorelai & Kent - Children's Portraits
I am obligated by contract to state that these are two of the cutest kids that i am genetically related to within a 2 hour radius. Okay, maybe not by contract, but seriously. how can you not find two little faces such as these adorable as all get up? These are FAR overdue, as Lorelai is nearly two months past her third birthday, and sooner than i know it, i'll be photographing Kent's 6 month photos! i've already started informing him he needs to work on his sitting up skills for those. Not totally sure he understood the importance of that though! without further adieu, here are the kidlets!
yet again, lisa must be showing her crafty-ness all over the photo shoot, no matter the degree. she made both lorelai's hair pieces this time around. super cute? i think so. my claim to fame for accessorizing are those cute little pink hi-tops lorelai is sporting.

and who doesn't love a handsomely dressed little fellow? lisa strikes again, with her color coordination. she even bought her husband a "daddy" sized tie that goes with kent's, and crafted herself a necklace to coordinate with lorelai's purple flower headband.

oh little baby hands. so tiny and cute. but look at those big blue eyes! i think lisa's going to have a future heart breaker on her hands!
